How long will I have to wear Invisalign?
Each clear aligner is worn for about two weeks, helping to gradually shift your teeth into the proper position. Most people will have about 18-30 aligners, on average. This means that most people will wear their Invisalign aligners for about nine to 15 months. Of course, those with mild misalignment may have fewer aligners, which means that they may achieve results in a shorter span of time than what’s generally anticipated.
How often will I have to visit the dentist?
You’ll most likely see our dental team every six weeks for quick checkups to make sure that everything looks good and that you don’t have any concerns. If you’re having any issues or questions between appointments, however, it’s always good to give us a call. We want our patients to be comfortable and happy during this treatment process.
Are aligners removable?
While you don’t want to take off your clear braces often throughout the day (surely you want to get that beautifully straight smile!), you are allowed to remove them when you eat, drink, brush and floss. This also means that you don’t have any food restrictions, unlike traditional braces. Chow down on a delicious steak or freshen your breath with some gum (just don’t wear your aligners when you do!) without having to worry about brackets or wires. Just remember to put your aligners back in immediately after.
